The Los Angeles County Office of the Assessor undertook a significant technological upgrade, replacing a 20-year-old computer system with a modern, digital solution. This project aimed to transition from a paper-based record-keeping system to a more efficient, digital workflow.

The web portal integrated five distinct components, with a primary emphasis on the search functionality. This feature enables users to query various property types and apply specific filters for refined results.
A pilot iPad application was developed to complement the web portal, enabling field teams to execute tasks remotely. The design evolved from low-fidelity prototypes to a fully coded, high-fidelity version. The prototype images below illustrate the user flow: task viewing, updating/editing, and change submission for review.

Icons that appear alongside page content, sometimes clickable. They visually reinforce ideas presented on the page, acting as visual cues. These icons were primarily used in the iOS app to guide users, but are also present in the web portal. They serve as additional, visual representations of information already provided in text.
Icons and colors were used consistently across devices. Icons convey information visually, while colors group related properties. Two styles: Mono Color (colored icons) and Achromatic (white icons on colored backgrounds) were used.
